First I like to say, as an individual, the society of the church has really gone downhill. I am not Muslim nor religious christian/catholic/ bla bla bla nor an atheist. If the church want to burn what 1.5 billion believe, they might as well burn holy bible too. There is a lot of tolerated sins writing in both text (there is a lot of tolerated sins in every religious text.)And if they also think about the history many people kill for the name of the lord. Examples would be: The Crusades, French War of Religion, and the Taiping Rebellion.
However, there is something I agree/disagree; I believe we should live in a toleration society that should respect everyone equally. Death should not be upon us because some thousand year old book told us too. We should have the willpower not to stand up but to modified people believe. Beside if I really had to follow the bible I would throw rocks and people, have polygamist sex with both my mom and sister, 25 single women, a couple of hundreds prostitutes and genocide and entire nation for the name of the lord. After sooooo many millennium religion has gone downhill. There as just old stories to give people faith (yeah so does The Little Engine That Could. What I believe is instead of fighting out and destroy a society for some beliefs that has absolutely no point to it, put the books down and share a beer. I am not saying become friends but I am also not saying become enemies.
@CJ, I completely agree with you. It is simply unconstitutional to deny any private religious building being constructed. If the location is good to build chruch or Synagoug then it is good to build Mosque.
Islam is a peaceful religion, and the Quran promotes kindness and acceptance. Burning this holy book offends not only Americans but people around the world. How would the book burners feel if something they held close to their heart were thrown into the fire? I hope one day we can all live in peace, without any oppression.
@RN Amin To that..
